The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, in an encouraging meeting with some of the doctors and health workers involved in the control of COVID-19, commended them for their selfless efforts in safeguarding the health of the Somali people.
The President of the Republic highlighted the Government’s efforts to improve health services in the country, and the significant achievements made in the control of the disease, while also focusing on the care of health workers.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo called on the Somali community to adhere to medical advice and directives to keep them safe, as the risk of disease remains. The president reiterated his concern over the risk of new waves of the disease in the country, urging the public to get the COVID-19 vaccine to prevent the epidemic.
“I urge you to heed the health advice and get the COVID-19 vaccine, it is a good prevention and it is safe. I have received the vaccine and many Somalis have received it and it is a safe prevention. Let’s rely on God and work hard.
At the meeting, which was attended by the Minister of Health, Ms. Fawzia Abikar Nur, and the Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Ahmed Hussein Maalim, the Doctors shared with the President the importance of the epidemic, its impact on our country and the working conditions of medical veterans. who stand for the salvation of our people.
